What Will Be Examined in Your Eight Point Inspection?
- Key topics addressed within the Code
- Presentation and style
- Leadership visibility and tone from the top
- Commitment to stakeholders
- Non-retaliation
- Public availability
- Learning aids and enhancements
- Peer practices comparison
The evaluation report will highlight those elements of your existing Code that are effective and which facets are in need of improvement, as well as demonstrate how your Code stacks up against your peers’.

What You Will Receive:

- A graphical presentation of findings via PowerPoint presentation.
Compliance Leader Verification
Available to companies with ‘good’ or better compliance and ethics programs, the Compliance Leader Verification process combines recognition with evaluation: Ethisphere affirms verification to those companies that meet or exceed the verification criteria and provides detailed annual reports to applicants on where their programs are succeeding, where they’re falling short and suggestions for improvement. The compliance programs of Certified Compliance Leaders are demonstrably superior to industry requirements and standards, and these organizations are taking the necessary steps to replicate these successes in the areas of corporate culture, corporate social responsibility and corporate governance.
Throughout the Compliance Leader Verification process, the Ethisphere Institute’s researchers and analysts conduct a detailed review of the organization’s current compliance and ethics-related initiatives, and benchmark them against the ‘hallmarks” of an effective compliance program, as defined by the U.S. Federal Sentencing Guidelines (FSG) and corporate and industry best practices, including:
What You Will Receive:
- Standards (code and policies)
- Board of director oversight
- Program structure and responsibility
- Training and communications
- Due care
- Monitoring and auditing
- Enforcement and discipline
The Ethisphere Institute uses a proprietary system of tools, templates, metrics and indicators to evaluate the quality and effectiveness of compliance initiatives and key program components.
While the timeline for Compliance Leader Verification will vary by the size and geographic reach of the company being certified, the verification process generally takes between four and eight weeks. Certification does require some active participation from the applying company’s leadership team, but is minimally invasive to company operations as we spread the involvement out over the duration of the process.

- Organizations that meet or exceed the certification criteria are granted a license to use the Ethics Inside™ Certification logo

Anti-Corruption Program Verification

Never before has there been greater emphasis on, or enforcement of, international anti-corruption and anti-bribery regulations around the world. As companies continue to expand and compete in the global marketplace, they are met with constant reminders of the importance of maintaining a robust anti-corruption compliance program. The number of investigations, prosecutions and sanctions for corruption-related transgressions continues to multiply year over year. Nevertheless, many organizations are facing this increasingly aggressive enforcement environment with limited compliance dollars and resources, forcing them in many cases to “do more with less,” thereby making effective resource allocation more critical.
What You Will Receive:
- Verification Report – A key deliverable of the Anti-Corruption Program Verification process is a report that:
- Provides an objective, third party statement on the overall state of the anti-corruption program;
- Details key finding regarding organization performance against standard assessment criteria;
- Presents a gap analysis;
- Benchmarks program features against applicable anti-corruption regulations (such as FCPA or UK Bribery Act);
- Provides relevant scorecards and matrices; and
- Recommend specific tactics and strategies for immediate and long-term improvement.
